MORE EASTER PICS

Tom showing off his kite skills

It was so windy...perfect for kite flying.

My favorite part is Erin laughing behind the playset!

Easter 2012

Here are few photos from our Easter Sunday. We went to church on Good Friday and had fun family time together on Easter. I'll post more pics soon!

gwen

Ah, this girl has me smitten. The third baby brings perspective. The first is new and amazing and confusing and overwhelming. The second is familiar, sweet and sometimes surprising. But the third... oh the third is just a little piece of heaven. Never dull, always poignant, forever blessed. I am enjoying myself.

POCH VALENTINES

I love Valentine's Day... more so now that I'm married and I have the same sweetie year after year!

Here are the heart pancakes at breakfast, with little fingers assisting in the red sprinkling.

Tom and I like to go out to dinner the week of Valentine's, but not on the night of... since the restaurants are insanely busy (and expensive). So on Valentine's night, I always cook up a fancy meal. This year I took it a bit easy since the three kids are always calling for me. Makes it challenging to whip up a feast :)

Nina was enamored with the beaded flowers, cloth napkins, candelabra, and fancy glasses. Such a girly girl!

Yes, I dug into the yummy salmon first!

I hope your Valentine's Day was sweet and memorable.

SCHOOL PROJECT

I've heard it said, when referring to parenting, that the days are long and the years are short. Because my oldest is now six, and I have more than a year or two to gauge by, I would say that I agree with that statement. It's an irony that I don't quite understand. But I'm grateful to be re-living the baby and infant stage, now on my third baby Gwen. She is a relatively calm and happy baby, but the chaos of our household ensues, with my older two and their joyful noises throughout the day. Never a dull moment in our house!

Here is a photo of Gwen I took yesterday. She is just beginning to discover her hands... so cute.

And yes, those are jeggings. I love dressing my little girl.

And this is a photo of a project we were working on for Ian's class presentation yesterday. We drew and colored the American flag ourselves. I knew there were 13 stripes and 50 stars, but I'd never had to actually draw the flag. They loved it!!

Tomorrow Ian gives a presentation on a book about puffins. He is so knowledgeable. I asked him recently what his favorite part about school is, and he said "presentations!" without hesitation. I love seeing him develop poise and social skills.

A TOAST TO THE NEW YEAR

We did an informal, fun toast last night. The kids, Moriah, Tom and I all toasted Henry Weinhardt's root beer and watched the Times Square ball drop (rerun on YouTube from last year... we watched at 9pm). The kids loved counting down, and Ian especially enjoyed having "pop" since I deprive my kids cruelly from soda consumption. Fun was had by all!

Cheers to a new year! What are your resolutions?

GOOD TIMES WITH GRANDMA

Here are some photos of my mom and little Gwen. I think I would be bordering on insanity right now, had my mother not come for a few weeks. Little did I know that 3 kids would be such a handful! She is such a calming, helpful presence. What a blessed daughter I am.
