On Christmas day we headed our little VW to the Black Hills to visit the McFarland’s, a drive that normally takes about 8 to 9 hours. Having a new little lad, however, tends to change the length of such a trip. We split up the drive on the way out and spent the night in Chamberlain. We had to get a little creative with Ian’s sleeping arrangements! Once we arrived in Sturgis, we were most enthusiastically received. This was the first time Bruce, Rachel & Moriah (Liz’s dad and two younger sisters) had ever met Ian. Needless to say, he was the main attraction. The drive home took us a whopping 12 hours! It was very special for us to have some quality time and cuddles with our much loved family. Check out our photos here.
