RECIPES OF NOSTALGIA - SAFFRON BREAD


Tonight I start a recipe that is dear to me, because it reminds me of my mother. And I had to purchase a special ingredient to begin. Saffron. Half an ounce and all $8.50 of it. But the aroma and taste are so distinct and rare that it was worth every penny! Right now the fragile little threads are soaking overnight and tomorrow I will continue to indulge my sentimental side.

Such a fun little girl, Nina. The nuances of her personality continue to unfold, day after day. And I must say that the year following the 2nd birthday is interesting with any child. But especially a child with the flair, opinions, and drama that she brings to our household! I am reading lots of parenting books to keep me grounded. But enjoying the ride nonetheless... :)
