I've heard it said, when referring to parenting, that the days are long and the years are short. Because my oldest is now six, and I have more than a year or two to gauge by, I would say that I agree with that statement. It's an irony that I don't quite understand. But I'm grateful to be re-living the baby and infant stage, now on my third baby Gwen. She is a relatively calm and happy baby, but the chaos of our household ensues, with my older two and their joyful noises throughout the day. Never a dull moment in our house!
Here is a photo of Gwen I took yesterday. She is just beginning to discover her hands... so cute.
And this is a photo of a project we were working on for Ian's class presentation yesterday. We drew and colored the American flag ourselves. I knew there were 13 stripes and 50 stars, but I'd never had to actually draw the flag. They loved it!!
Tomorrow Ian gives a presentation on a book about puffins. He is so knowledgeable. I asked him recently what his favorite part about school is, and he said "presentations!" without hesitation. I love seeing him develop poise and social skills.
I agree with him, I loved presentations, especially when o could be creative and involve art, food, interactive things, and "favors" for each person in my class. It's so cool to see this part of Ian's giftings come out. How I love these kids! I'd love to be present for a presentation of theirs!
